My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Italy | Thursday, July 4, 2013 | 5 photos
My soul would remain unsatisfied if I die without having kept foot on as many places possible on this planet. With its sheer beauty and diversity, it's the most humbling and uplifting force one can encounter. I feel that art is the only way to truly attempt to express your deep emotions about what you see and I choose the visual medium for this. My excursions in photography started a bit late in life but I soon realised the potential of a photograph to touch a person and ask him/her to ponder upon a topic. This happened when I clicked a lizard and made a friend feel its cute and innocent, eventually leading her to shed her disgust of it. The animal kingdom and their abode hold a very special place in my heart. Through photography if I can convey to people through a picture that a small change made by them is worth it to protect our natural environment, then I would feel to have made good use of my existence.
With no formal training at all I think this is a wonderful chance I will get to learn from Jason. Being a National Geographic photographer is a dream coming true, but getting to learn from one is a step closer. You cant ask for more when your passion becomes your profession.
