My Scholarship entry - The Land of Giants

Nepal | Tuesday, June 18, 2013 | 5 photos

Being there I can hear the murmur of a mountain river and the wind soaring through their good tidings, awakening a mixture of feelings that flood my senses.Photography is my perception of a moment in contact with inner feelings, a manner of capturing something that later would become my memories, the most valuable things I possess.

I was born a quarter of century ago, and until I could walk on my own feet my memories consist of being carried in a backpack from where I could see 'the Giants".The hidden traces of civilization have more stories to offer than any contemporary metropolis. The people and their culture, that are secluded in the places touched by few, leave behind legends worth to tell. As an architecture graduate, among other things, I consider Nature the greatest Architect and I humbly kneel in front of its masterpiece.

My story is composed at the "bits and pieces" of what this wonderful world has to offer, to immortalize a glimpse and share it with the rest.Memories are the ones that characterize us as individuals, a universal language through photography and I would be honored to have the chance to add more "words" to my vocabulary.

Sincerely,
Roxana Pau
