I have a wonderful little house this season, much more comfortable and happy than the hotel I stayed in for the last two. It is the first townhouse in a row of about 4, quite skinny but double story which gives us enough room.
The bottom level has the toilet directly to your left as you walk in the front door, not the best design ever.... Then the stairs next on the left, then through to the kitchen which doubles as a laundry with the washer and dryer in there as well. On the right is our living room, nice and spacey and where Kelly (my Dutch house mate) and I spend most of our time after training. Upstairs we have 3 rooms plus a small bathroom. Kelly's room is the biggest as she got there before me, then my bedroom and a computer room. My room is on the street side of the house, and gets the sun in the morning which is nice. When there is sun that is!
There is also a small courtyard out the back, just big enough to have a small garden, a paved area and a shed for our bikes. It's cosy, but perfect for what we need.
Kelly and I get along well, even though we are quite different in lots of ways. She is very neat and tidy, whilst I am generally not. We have worked it out though, I have found a new passion in cooking and trying out new recipes, and Kell washes up. She says that cleaning is in her genes, so who am I to stand in the way of science at work?
