I love moving I finished my undergraduate degree in Geography in May 2003, I had planned to go travelling with my good friend Rich but the timing of it kept putting being pushed further and further into the future. I worked for about 6 months and then January the 5th 2004 finally hit and off we went...I honestly thought at times it wouldnt happen but we both agreeed to get jobs that we wouldnt want to stay in and we didnt want as a long-term career. I saw my career as working with animals and outside so that meant choosing to work with people and inside...I didnt have trouble leaving in January however I had a fun lovely time and I met some great people...January the 5th arrived and Rich and I left. It was the first time I'd "backpacked", it was the first major trip I'd ever made and my journal documents the trips Ive made since then, my diaries of living abroad and just general trips that Ive made with people who I love and am blessed to have had in my life and shared such amazing experiences with.

About rowenah

Im Rowena, I love travelling and I love exploring new places. I prefer to live somewhere because I think iys only then can you truely begin to understand a culture. I believe that learning the local language is very important. Of every country Ive been to China is my favourite, the cultural diversity and environmental variations is spectacular. Rice paddies by morning, gorges in the evening, the variations in such a huge and divesre country is stark.

For me this journal is an oppotuinity to stay in touch and let the people I know in to my life a little bit more. I suppose it can be frustrating and even lonely at times. As soon as I get settled I move on. Its amazing because I seem to have wonderful friends all over the world but simultaneously I sometimes wish that all the people I know could be in the same place at the smae time...This I believe is a way of almost acheiving that.
