My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

EXPLORING has always been the main headline of my life. Resulting from a life with family across several continents, I started thriving for a more complete, a more deep picture of the world. I started travelling and documenting the places which are avoided by the masses. To see why the world is like it is. Seeing Burma, Albania, rural India. But also the Arctic region of Scandinavia. And always when I was somewhere, I wanted to go one step further. Feeling more, feeing more intense.
PHOTOGRAPHY has always accompanied me in this. Not from a professional point of view, but from a more personally documenting function. It’s not about the usual perspectives. But it’s more about showing the rare moments, the rare perspectives. My views start where others don’t value worth looking at.
THE SCHOLARSHIP would fit ideally within this. It would deepen my skills, my techniques. And it would also fit with my thriving for a more complete travel experience. A one-to-one coaching is the ideal way of learning and exchanging. So I’m grateful in getting the opportunity to benefit from this.
MY ENTRY with pictures from a trip to Istanbul. This city between Europe and Asia has always casted a certain fascination upon me. Always longing to go there, to feel the spirit, has definitely put a certain expectation. The pictures show scenes which last in my memory, for certain reasons. And finally, I arrived at the Hagia Sophia Mosque, my long waited place of dreams.
