My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
South Korea | Wednesday, January 9, 2013 | 5 photos
Photography. What does it mean to me? The simple answer is, everything. Taking photos isn’t just an activity I enjoy, it’s a visual representation of my life, my memories and my interpretation of the world we live in.
It is fair to say my flair for photography came quite late in life. Before my departure to South Korea, I invested in a DSLR to start learning about the art. Since then I have always enjoyed the freedom my camera has given me. It gives me the impetuous to just get up and head out to visit new and interesting places.
I feel that as I’m relatively fresh in the realm of taking pictures means I have a lot to learn and to experience. If I was fortunate to be able to work with Jason then there is no question that I will absorb everything he teaches me.
For me being a photographer is about being able to convey the story behind the picture. This is exactly what I want to do as a career, being that medium between the image and the story.
If I was successful at securing this once in a lifetime opportunity then there is no way I would let it stop there. This is exactly the springboard one needs to enter the photography world and what a splash this project will make.
