A month spent studying the Beaufort Gyre in the Canadian Arctic

The Canadian Arctic

My love of film photography started in High School as I took course after course of darkroom photography. I learned quickly that when shooting film, you have to put your heart and soul into making and taking every photograph.
Following High School, I continued to take photographs everywhere I went. Even though I did not continue to take formal classes, I incorporated photography into whatever I was pursuing. So this fall, when I spent a month up in the Canadian Arctic aboard the CCGS Louis S. St-Laurent sampling for my Masters degree, I spent all of my free time trying to capture every aspect of life on a ship during a scientific cruise in one of the world's most extreme environments. I took film photographs, as well as a few digital ones using a GoPro and just your standard point-and-shoot.
I am a strong believer that there is always more to be learned - no matter how many photographs you've captured or how many courses you've taken. I would love to continue learning alongside Jason Edwards in the Peruvian Amazon.
