My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I have recently finished college after 6 years. Graduating with a BA (Hons) Fine Art i pursued photography all throughout my Diploma, Degree and BA.
Throughout my years of studying photography my understanding, appreciation and passion for the world around me has grown so much. I see the world in a different way to many people i know, capturing the overlooked and unseen, forever noticing images that need to be made and sometimes dont, just the need to be appreciated and noticed.
In my 2nd year of my Degree in Photography i discovered New Zealand had suffered a severe earthquake in Christchurch. Wanting to make a project that was completely out of my comfort zone i had the idea to document the after effects from the earthquake. I traveled to NZ to document this tragic event. Being 19 years old at the time i felt this was a great opportunity for me to travel both islands of NZ. I went for three weeks, backpacking and had the time of my life and now have the BUG to travel and photograph! To become apart of this amazing opportunity would be absolutely fantastic. I have always wanted to work for the National Geographic, it is my dream job and this is already getting me very excited!!!
