Holi the festival of color,is celebrated all over India, but it is slowly losing popularity in the big cities. It is a festival of victory of good over evil.I went to Vrindavan an ancient Hindu temple town, two hours drive from the capital city New Delhi, to participate in the celebrations. It is still celebrated with gusto out there. At night people light bonfires all over symbolising the burning of Holika. The next day in the morning i joined the crowds of devotees throwing coloured water ,powder at each other and sharing hugs.It took me back to my childhood as i have been living in the United States for the past 25 years.I tried to keep my camera dry and started shooting.I hope you all enjoy the shots.I have been photograhing people and landscapes both in black & white, and color.I recently had an exhibition called, The Stars Of India ,at the Minneapolis Photo Center.
