About robertafacchiniphotography
Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by on my travel/photography blog :)
My name is Roberta Facchini and I’m an Italian photographer based in London specialising in portraiture, weddings and travel photography.
My love for photography goes back to when I was a little girl and at the age of 6 I picked up my first ever SLR during an afternoon Photography Course in my elementary school. I still remember how heavy it was that I could barely look into the viewfinder..
Ever since those days the camera has always been by my side! Initially it was one camera, then it was a camera and one lens, then two lenses, then a new camera..three lenses… two camera bodies, four lenses, a tripod..the list goes on :)
My passion for photography continued to grow the more I travelled and I currently find myself spending my evenings (and money!) planning trips or getaways around the world, brainstorming travelling wish lists whether with my girlfriends, my other half or as a solo traveller.
After living for a summer with a Finnish family at the age of 15, spending days at a cottage in the wood, experiencing the sauna and swimming in the freezing lake, I moved to the US to be an exchange student with AFS for a year. What an open mind experience living as an American High School girl for a year and travel (obviously!) in the US. I also spent a snowy winter in Norway while in uni before deciding that London was going to be my new home, a vibrant and energetic city with endless opportunities and with great travelling links! Just ideal for me :)
Some of my recent trips brought me to:
- BALI, a country which was in my dream list for such a long time as it encompass everything I always wanted to experience: a great culture and colourful traditions, delicious food, the most welcoming people, unbelievable sceneries and photography opportunities, a peaceful yoga environment.
- SANTORINI, the most romantic island I’ve visited so far.
- INDIA, finally for a yoga retreat.
In my travel / photography blog you will find several travelling posts with my personal experience, my photographs and some advices here and there, such as my MUST SEE places or MUST EAT spots. After all I’m Italian and as such I’m a food lover!
Each trip was carefully planned. I spend days and/or weeks reading every piece of useful information I can find online and getting informed through fellow travellers’ blogs or forums (my personal favourite: Lonely Planet and Trip Advisor).
You will NEVER see me inside a travel agency! That’s my rule.
Planning and reading about a new destination is such an exciting and thrilling time, you get so into the mood and the atmosphere of each specific country that you literally end up counting the hours before the departure and even packing looks bearable (well, almost!).
I love to share the peak and the pit of each of my trip too.
Along with travelling posts, you will regularly see a mixture of posts on my latest photography commissioned works. These will include
weddings reportages,
portraiture sessions with some of my clients, engagement sessions, various
reportages and so on.
Needless to say, I’m always available for DESTINATION WEDDINGS :)
