My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Many moons ago I trained as an Actor. I then studied Criminology and Psychology. A few years ago I went back to study again, in a field that I had once considered, Cinematography.
This began to shape photography for me in a new, fascinating and more structured way. I put my lovely little compact camera to one side, bought a dslr and never looked back.
At the present, I've been lucky enough (through friends) to be Stills Photographer for a low budget feature film called ‘Drown’. It's a wonderfully challenging experience being thrown into the deep end and testing your skills.
Which brings me to why I am applying for this scholarship. This opportunity would be an amazing life changing experience. It's something I would wholly embrace as a strengthening of my technical process and it would energise confidence by just being chosen. I'd see this as a great support of my visual choices and faith in the possibilities of things to come.
As for the future, I’d like to continue to have the opportunity to do stills work. As for dreams; that would be to take pictures of the natural world preferably in the wild. And as for people, I am very drawn to the authenticity of photography, vérité.
