Tropical Truth

My name is Irakli G and my partner in crime is Nagila Guimaraes, who prefers to stay off camera but she is the producer, heart and soul of our video application as well as other mutual projects.

As far as I can remember my biggest dream has always been going to Rio De Janeiro. Well I ended up in New York, but desire & Bossa in my head made me learn fluent Portuguese and everything one can learn about Brazil.
Do you know anyone who wouldn’t rather be in Rio?

Inspiration for this video application comes from Brazil! Its colors, its music, its landscapes – It is an incredibly rich & culturally profound country where everything has it’s own way. Rather than showing some old footage from my other trips we decided to make a video about Rio.

I have only worked on several film festivals and written articles about cinema. Other than that I have never made any documentary, feature or even a short. Same applies to Mrs. Guimaraes.

Winning this scholarship would mean two things -We will have a chance to test ourselves as doc. filmmaker/reporters & I will have luxury to work on my favorite subject BRAZIL
As they say, better see once than hear about it hundred times.
