Indian Subcontinent 2008 - 2009

Orissa

Coolies at railway stations carry up to 40kg bags on their heads (sometimes several at a time - plus suitcases in their hands/under arms etc) for 6 pence. Often these coolies are childen and many of them have grown up and still live on the platforms.
