My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I come from small town in central Slovakia and have been very visual and curious person since I was a small kid. I work in telecom industry and my job took me in 2006 to several countries outside Europe.
I started with photography while I was in Middle East mostly to capture the incredible pace the region had and still is changing as well as to balance off my analytical part of brain with something creative.
Turning 38y tomorrow (Jan 15) and having travelled endless miles in search of interesting light across several countries I never dreamed to visit, I find it more satisfying and (soul) rewarding when I am able to capture unique moment, gesture or smile. I still love my current job, but at the same time I know I won’t stop making pictures - I once turned hobby into a job and I would like to do the same applying for the scholarship.
My set features some pictures from 2010 taken during 10 days trip with a friend from back home. We covered almost 2000 km shooting on land, see, island, in desert, wadis and mountains and had a lot of fun from early mornings till late in the starry nights.
Would love to learn how it’s done properly and maybe open a next door in my career.
