My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Mexico | Wednesday, December 5, 2012 | flickr photos
I started in photography 5 years ago, when kite surfing in Sonora Mexico took me to sports photography, which did not last long. Later on I studied in Mexico City a 2-year technical school in photography at the Active School of Photography (Escuela Activa de Fotografía), where I gave digital photography classes afterwards for more than a year. The past 8 months have been a battle for me in finding the thing that maters the most when I’m making photography. For me it seems to be the people, and its intricate interaction with the planet we share. Finding my way in to street photography, and actually tiring to say something with mi pictures has been really hard, but always looking for it to make a social message.
I want to make the jump to documentary photography so the work I can make goes for a more global awareness of what truly happens around our world, giving real news to people. Making a difference in the way we see our world.
I have knowledge about digital photography, from sensors to optics to cameras and functions. I also know intermediate Photo Shop and Camera RAW. I have bean shooting with DSLRs for more than 3 years. I speak both English and Spanish fluently.
