My Photo scholarship 2010 entry
Worldwide | Saturday, October 16, 2010 | 5 photos
I am not a professional photographer. Matter of fact, I barely know anything about photography itself as a field. I an ambitious dreamer. I am a New Yorker and every workday I sit behind a desk, staring at a computer, spreadsheets & calendars. I love to learn, am addicted to adventure and am a hopeless traveler. This city girl just met the wild west! My photos were taken on a recent trip to Arches National Park in Moab, Utah. Pics 1: a welcoming road to park. 2: From man-made rocks to distant mother natures wonders. 3: The edgy trail to the top. 4: Shadows of adventure before looking up to see #5: the iconic touristic reason why I visited Utah.
I cannot explain why I'd like this opportunity from WorldsNomad. Is it the obvious, to travel? Yes. Is it to learn from an amazing photographer? Absolutely. However, I want the opportunity to learn photography at a awe inspiring location. I believe a photo can capture time, place, emotion, and spirit. I'd like the opportunity to do so. To be able to look at that one photo years later in hopes that it takes me back to a time and place when the world posed for it.
