My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I am 26 and have several passions all of which unfortunately are very hard to get involved in. One of those is photography, specifically relating to the natural environment and animals. Although I have never spent large amounts of money on photography gear I thoroughly enjoy spending hours behind whatever equipment I have access to attempting to get a shot that has presented itself or that I have visualised in my head. Most of my knowledge has been developed behind a camera by simply playing with settings and looking at the differences in the photos, but of course I have learnt the basics. I have always wondered how the national geographic photographers are selected and been in awe of how amazing their lives are. To be able to capture so many different inspiring moments in time and share them with the world would be a dream. An opportunity like this may only come around once so I simply had to submit an application. The photo's entered reflect many of the different features I experienced in Reunion Island.
