My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Worldwide | Tuesday, October 18, 2011 | 5 photos

Hi Jason!
I’m Juan Arrieta from México City. I travel to India last fall to realize a “photo exercise” in order to satisfy my hunger for travel and my passion for photography. Let me tell you the reason for that travel was also my honeymoon trip. So, I have a long chat with Pilar my wife, to explain her why the journey won’t be so romantic at all…
Why I want the scholarship? Because I want, look and deserve “the best job in the World” I’m a psychotherapist who happily work with people, but, you know, I love nature, travel and photography the most. So, in order to improve my skills as a photographer, I need to learn how to make my living like you do Jason and also I need to increase my photo skills to make the right approach to the wild life and with people from different cultures.
The 5 photos:
Untouchable: The lowest cast in India society are the Untouchables. People meant to do only the cleaning work and the tasks nobody else want to do, so people don’t touch or get close to them. The girl works at Fort Amber.
Surya Namaskar (the sun salutation): At dawn in Varanasi seagulls raise the souls of cremated people at the shore of the Ganaga and deliver them to Nirvana.
Guards at Orccha Fort: The construction of this Mogul palace took 20 years and it was meant to be the residence of the emperor, but he only spend one night in the palace. After that the building was abandoned.
The Vail: Spying a woman trough a lattice from inside the Taj Mahal.
Mother in law: The lady at the window catches me when I was about to shot at her daughters. Meherangarh Fort.
I hope to be elected!!!
