A gannet’s landing approach, scanning the cliff surface searching for an opportunity to land.

Perched above the waters of the Tasman Sea, the cliffs of Otakamiro Point are home to a colony of gannets. Gannets dive deep into the waters to feed on fish making this is a prime location.

The gannet colony at Muriwai can be described as crowded at the best of times, the courtship rituals of a pair of gannets does not go unnoticed.
