The Dawn Arrival: After more than a week of sailing day and night from Vanuatu the fleet of Te Mana o Te Moana arrives in the Solomon Islands. The fleet of 7 Vaka Moana reef their sails and await the dawn welcoming ceremony with thousands of locals gathered on the beach. Conch shells are blown and haka performed announcing the arrival.

Wash Time at Sea:

3 days sail out from the nearest land in any direction, Te Matau-a-Maui crew member Richard Smith leaps off the Bowsprite of the Vaka Moana covered in soap. A blistering hot day in the pacific and a lull in the wind allowed time for a fun filled splash in the sun.

A Warriors Gaze:

A Solomon Island Warrior leads his tribe onto the Honiara sports field as part of the welcoming ceremony. It was a spectacular show of colour and culture as delegates from all the pacific nations came dressed in traditional garments and performed traditional dances, songs and chants for the 30,000 strong crowd.

This is beautiful. I have only just become aware of Mr Bosch's work and quite literally became a fan overnight. I really admire and respect his love for people, indigenous cultures, and an eye for capturing/invoking emotion..hes got my vote!
