My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

My name is Ram Narayan, a resident of India. I have started developing the interest in photography barely eight months before (Feb 2011 precisely) and I fell in love with it more than anything else I did in my life so far. I was inspired by a friend whom I met during a trek in South India. I was inspired by his pictures and his knowledge about photography which ignited a new passion in me. Later I signed up with www.digital-photography-school.com to continue fuelling my passion since I could not find time for a regular course on photography. That online learning gave me the confidence to borrow his equipment on my next trip and was widely appreciated for my clicks. Now I am a proud owner of a Canon 550D with Sigma 18-250mm lens.
Pictures are powerful than words. Pictures eliminate the dependencies in the form of language and have a much wider audience across any boundaries. One could not only get to know but realize / feel what’s happening across the world by sitting in front of a computer. I would want to be part of that industry (photography) which keeps the world informed, round the clock. I would be more than happy if my pictures could contribute for the betterment of the society that we belong to. I am looking forward for this opportunity to be mentored by a NGC photographer, where I am looking to learn and inspire many others to enter the world of photography.
