My Scholarship entry - An untold story on the streets of Sydney

Photography, for me, has moved on from just being a passion, to the way I want to live my life. To look at the world from a different perspective, seeing what people can’t afford to see. To embark on little journeys and experiences, taking lessons and absorbing what the world and human kind has to offer. To share those moments and memories with others, hoping the world could be a better place. It brings out the happiness in me.

It wasn’t until I bought myself my first camera 5 years ago that I sunk even more into the realm of photography. Taking one shot at a time, I learnt the hard way, pursuing my dreams and capturing moments in and around my life, hoping that my visual metaphors can be used to create good deeds in people’s life.

Born and raised in Indonesia, the idea to travel and see the world is something of a castle in the sky to me. This scholarship opportunity is a bright light in my life right now and Jason’s mentoring would be my bridge to cross over and reach that light. My dreams will never stop and nor am I about to give them up. The journey hasn’t even begun. Perhaps my words can’t say enough but I believe in my heart that my images speak much louder than my words.
