A 'place' I have visited

Being a photographer at 20 years old my photography is mainly a hobby. I photograph as much as I can and have been for 4.5 years now. I found it very hard to get noticed but as my photography skills improve, and my horizon widens, so does my recognition. I believe coming from a creative family has helped me a lot as I have been able to express myself freely.
When I was young I would love to go and see performances and take photos, so when I was at school I took photography the first chance I got. This broadened my knowledge of photography and it has helped me to extend my subjects of which I like to photograph. Concert photography is my favourite but nature and animals come a tight second.
Recently I had the chance to photograph the annual Ohakune Mardi Gras which celebrates the official opening of the Mount Ruapehu ski fields. I benefited a lot from this and am starting to get noticed. This opportunity to go to Greenland and be a travelling photographer would not only benefit me but others as well, as I would be the eyes for those who can’t go and see the world. I will bring it to them in the form of photographs, as they say, “A picture speaks a thousand words”.
