My Scholarship entry - Qinuituk, Greenland
Greenland | Sunday, June 30, 2013 | 5 photos
When I was only 19 years-old, I set off a journey which would get me closer to fulfill a part of my dream.
My dream is to reach the North Pole, I was lucky to travel nearby: to Greenland.
I worked there during the summer, in August 2011.
I thought I could have time to take pictures and get to know the place, but I had to take care of the people in the expedition, and I had to put the photos aside.
A word I learnt is “Qinuituk”, and its meaning was “deep patience”.
When I swam in the Greenland fjords, that froze me physically but made me feel full of life in the inside.
Why do I have to be chosen?
Just coming back from that experience I took a 2 year photography master and I am not very happy with the final result, it was about documentary photographer, but we have not learnt about landscape photography, about dealing with people and defend yourself; the truth is I am disappointed. I’ll graduate in 10 days.
I have a great temperance inside that tells me everything will go fine if I continue fighting for my dreams. I have never given up on anything.
I am sure I do not need to travel around the world to make good pictures. Maybe the best photos can be found where you less expect it.
