Summary of Adelaide and Perth

AUSTRALIA | Sunday, 6 December 2009 | Views [201]

We got to Adelaide and started walking in the 40 degree heat, and met on the walk a gentleman from seattle who we hung out with the rest of the time in adelaide. His name was Roger Federer haha no it was Jaysun but he looks like the famous tennis player! We went to the beach and played frisbee, walked around got to know the lay out of Adelaide. We met with a friend named Megan, and we went out for some drinks. The following day we went for a drive and went to the summit of Mount Lofty, we went to a German village and had Meat pies! Megan dropped us off and we had to say goodbye. We even got goodie bags!

In Perth we arrived after 48 hours straight and then some on the train. We went to an ex-canadian's hostel, and it was not up to par really. The people who were there had taken over the rooms, so there was no room for us. So we moved into another hostel, and it was an improvement. We then went on a four day surf camp in Lancelin, which was amazing exhausting and I got injured. I twisted or tore or sprained my big toe joint on my right foot and it has not fully healed yet. It has been almost two weeks since the injury, I was hoping to heal faster.

Other exciting tid bits was that after the surf camp, we stayed in the same hostel when we got back to perth. However we had a new roomate who was a local aussie. He we found out in the end however was a "nutjob". He was not following rules of the hostel by smoking in the rooms, and he wouldn't even open the window. There is of course more than just that, that occured, but it was enough for a small complaint for him to be moved to another room. We were out getting food when they decided to tell him of course, and when we came back my laptop had been broken. He of course denies everything, that he lost his key was a good excuse. Anyway we did learn something from the event, and that is to be extra careful in hostels.

We went and saw Green Day play at the Burswood Dome! It was amazing they know how to perform absolutely! It was one of the coolest concerts I have been too!

From there we have had to fly to Melbourne because the trains were fully booked due to the holiday season! So we need to find some type of work after the holidays for sure. Costs keep rising, however, nothing we had not expected!

Off to find another hostel!
