About princessfeet
Growing up, all family holidays were road trips. Every time we left for a holiday, we would all shout at the top of our lungs, “Look out <destination>, here we come”!
Our trips would range from a couple of hours to epic journeys days on end to get to where we were going. Typically our epic journeys were from one end of Australia to the other, driving up from the bottom of Victoria, through central NSW and QLD, spotting kangaroos, cockatoos and galahs, waiting for our daily ice-cream treat from a service station in a two man town between nowhere and goodbye, til we got to our family holiday house in Yeppoon. Some of my favourite childhood memories are from those crackling hot beach holidays, of the jellyfish filled sea, kookaburras, crabs, snakes, bush turkeys and cane toads. And, I have wonderful memories of my family together and having fun.
Those long journeys have made me a patient traveller, with a yearning to get out of my own skin and into a new place to discover its treasures. And so I go, onwards to experience new places and cultures and get out of myself for a while.
Look out world, here I come!
