A Framed Journey.

My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

About the photos.

The invisible kind.

We have eyes, but we do not look at each other, therefore neither of us exists.

A visual journey through the anonymity and transitory nature of the human being in big cities. In this essay I use photography to explore the traces left behind by the crowds of people that inhabit urban areas.

About me.

Someone once told me we all are storytellers. Some of us create fiction stories, others tell their own life story or are compelled to tell other people’s stories and of course, there are others who like me, are not good with words so we take a visual journey to tell a story. In my case, the medium in which I found a passion like I have never experienced before and the perfect way to express myself is photography.

It’s been a long and beautiful journey to discover that photography is my path. With photography you never stop learning. Its constantly changing, and the most amazing part is that it changes and grows with you.

I have never felt more alive that when I am traveling and taking pictures. There is something magical about the first time you meet a new place, its culture and people and to have photography to help me create stories with and about them and to help me remember those moments is just priceless.

If I win this prize, it will change my life forever. I am so eager to learn and to grow as a photographer and as a person, and I think this is an amazing opportunity to do just that. I can spend hundreds of words telling you I am the right choice but I am not going to do that, I will just tell you that I want this with my heart and soul and I feel I could bring something good, different and fresh to the National Geographic family.

Beforehand, thank you for your time and attention.
