Go down Moses

What for a person was born to? As everybody knows, we should build a house, plant a tree and raise a child. But do these things make us who we are? I don't think so. Only self-knowledge and fulfillment have keys to all the doors. And there is no better way to prove it than traveling.

So, I would like to share with you my story about Israel, my motherland by nature. It was ten unforgettable summer days, which have changed me completely. I don’t want to tell you common things about the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem, magnificent gardens in Haifa or modern culture and arts in Tel – Aviv. There is one thing that you would never feel, as I did it, of course, if you are a not a jew and decide to do this.

It was a night in Negev desert, where Moses had lead his people for 40 years. Our group went far away from Bedouin camp, where we stayed for a night, so there were no lightning except our cells. And then we decided to switch all the lighters and phones and go by yourself for some time. Imagine, you are the one in cold and lonely desert and only stars on the heaven light up your way. My ancestors did it for many years. What did they think about? Everyday your the worst enemy is yourself. Are there any hope for a greater future where for a thousand miles is only silent and frightened desert?.. As I was thinking about it, I laid on a rocks and looked up. I have never felt before, who proud I am for my nation, for my fathers, for who I am. My heart was overflowing with feelings, so I give up and cry. This understanding came to me only due to this trip.

Well, I believe that when you travel, it is like you live the second life. If I could do, I would make travelling as a necessary life study, instead of the last course in the university. So, tell me now, what for a person was born to?
