A long and tedious journey from 0630 Canberra/Melbourne/KL and then to Phucket, arrived at 2230. Taxi to Surin, very relieved and happy to be in Hotel Capri, built by an Italian from Naples with lots of statues. First someone had TV on all night, woke up at 0300 to blood curdling screams, didn't know what was happening and where I was. Eventually reality hit but couldn't get back to sleep. Next night no TV thank goodness but still woke early at 0300 again(still on Oz time), much to Peters annoyance, threatened to kill me if I did the same the next night. Anyway lovely day on beach under shade, my poor white body will have to get used to sun slowly.
Saturday and its off to Tawai down South. Found great place, holiday bungalow in a beautiful garden setting. Met up with Mick and Karen Peter's buddies from Tia Min, great fun. Sunday having very lazy day, easing gently into our retired lifestyle
