My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Bolivia | Sunday, June 2, 2013 | 5 photos
I love what is visual, nostalgic, funny, social, colourful and aligned with my quirky and idealistic values. I caught the travel bug after visiting South America and trekking the Inca Trail. I learnt and grew so much. It was abstract to compare the remains of Incan buildings, the nature and the community; to the triviality and routine of my normal life.
What I hope to gain from this scholarship:
- A wealth of learnings. I am so drawn to this scholarship because it is hard to come by people like Jason who, despite their experience and the demand on their time, are willing to share patience and experience with someone who wants to learn
- Perspective and the chance to share this with others to inspire and educate
- A start in the industry
Sometimes the best, most off-chance photos capture a moment that has been drowned by countless other images we see. I want to stop time, tell stories and take people somewhere.
I am a User Experience Designer at Deloitte Digital. In my time use I am the vocalist of a band called ‘Pixelated Deer’, I produce a small bar documentary, paste up my drawings around the neighbourhood and volunteer as a dog walker at the local dog rescue centre
