Park Tempelhof, in the heart of Berlin, is my favorite place in the city. It used to be an airport built by the Nazis, but was turned into a beautiful park after it got shut down. Skating on the historic landing strip, that still exists, always gives me a feeling of freedom.
Rodrigo Garcia (an actor from brazil) and I (a filmmaker from the Netherlands) both live in Berlin. I love sport. He loves to dance. We thought that learning to dance on skates in Tempelhof could be fun for both of us!
I worked for a Dutch broadcaster and moved to Berlin to study film directing. I've produced and directed several no-budget short films and documentaries. Rodrigo studied theater directing in brazil and moved into performance art in Berlin. He is also an actor and just finished shooting his first feature film.
We both would like to learn more about video journalism, because we feel real life is not only stranger than fiction, it can also be way more interesting! This would be a HUGE opportunity for us to develop our film making skills, while traveling. And Rodrigo is the perfect guide: he can show me, and the viewer, the real brasil like only he can. With charm, humor and a bit of exaggeration.
