A new Myanmar

Myanmar | Saturday, January 12, 2013 | 5 photos

I remember looking through a book of Sebastiao Salgado and the impact his photographs had on me. I think this is the first time I realized that photography could be a completely different way of looking at the world and make people think differently about the issues the photograph presents. Although I am very new to this world, this is what i aspire to with my photography and travel is definitely my inspiration. Since i finished my studies in music and environmental science i have spent most of my life traveling, returning home for short periods to work and travel again. But it is only in the last 2 years that I have started to take a camera with me and it has allowed for the most incredible interactions and memories. I want to learn everything I can about this industry and the possibility of turning travel and photography into a means of living. I don't believe that your job should be something you do just to earn money to live the life you really want on your weekend. I think it should combine as many of your passions as possible and be something you want to wake up and do each day and put all your hard work and energy into. This is what I want from my life.
