Caption 1: One of my favorite views of Valparaiso. With it´s cables. It´s Light. It´s people.
Caption2: Colour in a backyard.
Caption3: “Apaga la tele, vive tu vida” means “ Turn off the TV, live your life”. This has become almost the spirit of Valparaiso slogan. You can find Tshirts with this iconic and wise advice in them.
Caption4: One of Valpo´s (short for Valparaiso) biggest characteristics are it´s graffitis everywhere. Man passing by one of those.
Caption5: Crazy bike parking.
Valparaiso is a beautiful city close to Santiago de Chile. It´s our main Port. Chosen as Human Heritage by the UNESCO. A place worth to be seen with it´s intricate streets, funiculars (cable cars), rusty old buildings, colours everywhere, and a lively bohemian nightlife.
Why should I be chosen??
I´m eager to learn! About photography, my passion! And about life, about art, about music , about different cultures. I´m a Graphic designer. I have this passion about Light, details, big or small, capturing the moment, emotions, atmosphere. Photography is part of my spiritual beliefs. To transmit the beauty, nature, simplicity, music.
When I read about this scholarship in Bhutan, my heart leapt! Bhutan was THE destiny I would have loved to know. For it´s uniqueness, unspoiled people, amazing culture and beautiful landscapes. But knowing it was an almost imposible dream. Now this chance opens a bit of hope.
I MUST see Bhutan with my own eyes! I want to capture the essence of it and show it to the World!
I can be a good companion. I´m fun to be with. And tough too. I can be very helpful. I love adventure. I made a mountain course where I learned about security, survival, adecuate clothing and feeding. The use of a harness, making knots, crossing rivers, etc. I like skiing, hiking, mountain biking. I´ve scuba dived, done heliski. I sing in a choir. Love music. I´m a mom.
A week in Bhutan is just perfect for me. And even better doing a scholarship with someone like you guys. I come from the earthquake land, the miners. I´m proud of my country. You should come to visit us!
I´m sure you would choose right with me. Hope you do.
Best, Pilar.
