The First Week

AUSTRALIA | Friday, 14 April 2006 | Views [557] | Comments [2]

Hey everybody we managed to give this address to - and some we press ganged into taking!

We are still alive and its been a week so far so we must be doing pretty well. We have been staying with Tony and Trish - Holly's grandparents friends for the last week and they have helped us integrate with society and get a vehicle. Its a Toyota Land Cruiser (4litres - Gareth eat ya heart out!!!) its been taken around the country before and we got it off a couple who know the score when travelling and have kitted it out ready for the road. Its been ok'd by a mechanic and we've had a few little jobs done on it to make sure it won't let us down and are very pleased with it.

We are giving it a proper run down to denmark (a town down south 400k's) tomorrow and will let you know just how reliable it really is!!

Hope all is well in the UK as its bloody perfect here (29degrees tomorrow) don't get too depressed in your jobs at home as we will be back in a year to tell you all about it!!

Bye for now Holly and Phil

(Will stick some photos on when we get a chance)

Hi guys,

glad to hear you made it there ok. I had a great time in South Africa, did not want to come back, was tempted to call my parents and say I was staying for a few years, but my flats gone in London has gone through FINALLY!! and I move in next wednesday (May 10th). I can top you on the temp, in London yesterday it was 27 0C and the temp in South Africa was between 30 and 38 0C the whole time I was there. If you fancy taking a different route on the way back, I would recommend Cape Town it is lovely.

Any how, back to reall life, need to find another job. can't wait to see some photos soon.

Keep well
Siobhan

Hi you two.

We are on our way over...today to be exact..well we never were early to bed, were we!?

Naturally very excited. We are off to Tasmania for New Year. Going to do a bike ride down Mt Wellington 20kms. If we survive that we are then going on a Ghost Tour this is all happening New Years Eve.

Have been following your adventures, well done you. The snorkelling looks awesome. What great experiences you are having, which is what life is all about isn't it?

Your mum and I usually speak once a fortnight on the phone. Wish she was nearer...and your Dad as well. We like the life here in Brightlingsea, just miss our friends. Still won't be long and we will be off on our bowling holiday(Feb).

In the meantime we shall saviour our time in Oz. Pity you aren't nearer to Melbourne, would have been nice to meet up. Hopefully you will get the chance to meet up with Kieran and Sarah before you head back to England.

Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Going to be strange spending it in the sun, isn't it? Spoke to Kieran yesterday and they have been having quite a few fires, so the sun was obliterated by smoke..sounds fun!

Take care. Will email you when we get back and tell you about our trip.

Love
Lin and Alan
