Night at El Karnak temple

Sound and light show

EGYPT | Tuesday, 26 May 2015 | Views [126] | Scholarship Entry

Last January I went on a trip to Luxor, Egypt , Although it was winter the wither was warm and kind of hot , i liked putting on my summer cloth again.
On my tour I went to the temple of Karnak , one of the oldest and greatest temples in the whole world with very wide space and great giant statues of old gods and pharaohs , to be honest I felt little bored, one of the tourism guides there told me "try to come back at night and watch all pharaohs come back to life" , he meant the sound and light show.
I went back there at night about 9 o'clock , stood in the dark scary temple with absolutely no light but the weak moon light with about another hundred tourists.
Then there was the light, the great statue of Amon the ancient pharaoh god lit up and started to talk "I am the god Amon" , then for next hour all ancient gods and kings statues came back to life lighting up in the heart of the dark speaking of them selves, lives, achievements and believes.
Then we reached the holy lake of the ancient pharaohs where we watched a marvelous show of wars and victories of my pharaohs ancestors.
When the show ended the hole temple went back in a complete darkness , still swimming int the calm light of the moon waiting for the next night to come back to life again.
