My Scholarship entry - Exploring the culture of Peru

In the summer of 2013, I joined a group of youth and leaders on a service trip to Chincha Alta Peru. We explored all over the city and did various different jobs amoung the citizens of Peru. Including fixing up a retirement home and building 2 washrooms in 2 different schools. On the 3rd week of of our trip we flew to Cuzco where we did the trek to Machu Picchu (Inca trail).
This trip has inspired me in photography and to do as much traveling as possible throughout my life. This past summer I hiked the West coast trail and portions of the East coast trail in Newfoundland. I've fallen in love with nature and love to explore new places.
I'm currently in first year university studying Geology at Laurentian. I chose this path to learn more about what our earth has to offer and will hopefully include lots of traveling and life experience along the way.
I have a passion for travel and I would love to be chosen for this scholarship!
