Through Local Eyes: Perth Hills

My Scholarship entry - Through Local Eyes

WORLDWIDE | Saturday, 13 October 2012 | Views [335] | Scholarship Entry

When I travel overseas I love to immerse myself in new cultures. I hope this video expresses a glimpse of my life lived in Perth hills, Western Australia. I chose this subject as I continue to love my local area. I am lucky enough to be situated in an area where our surroundings consist of both natural bush and wildlife.

As for my film making experience, it is rather limited, however, I hope to make up for it with my dazzling presentation skills! My future aim is to become a presenter who captivates their audience whilst also having a social conscience.

Lastly, winning this scholarship would provide an exiting opportunity to appreciate, embrace and celebrate Brazilian culture. To be able to see first hand the similarities and differences of both our cultures would be an amazing learning opportunity.

Should I be lucky enough to partake in this trip I hope to be able to engage with the Brazilian people; take a walk in their shoes, find out how they tick. Who knows? We may even prefer it! It is said that travel increases your IQ, but I personally believe it to be the meeting and engaging with people from different cultures around the world that broadens your horizons.
