Amar Sons Park

In the hustle and bustle of a metropolitan city,
Huffing and puffing, with hurry always in its kitty.
Located in the Indian subcontinent is Bombay, a bay
A city that sleeps neither at night nor in the day.
Amidst all those blinding lights and continuous sound,
Will you not be lost rather than being found?
If you are but willing to go the extra mile,
Instead of visiting all the tourist spots in a file.
Seeking you are peace, quiet and bliss,
In a place so common, that it's easy to miss.
In a suburban park, in this City of Dreams,
Amidst the glitter of showbiz and the beams.
I chanced upon at an unseemly hour, a sea-facing park,
So serene, that even years later lingers on me its mark.
With the swanky Breach Candy apartments behind you,
And the night lights so colourful, you cannot feel blue.
It's rarely crowded, yet you feel connected,
The sea so magnanimous, you will never be rejected.
Sitting on the concrete bench, facing the Arabian Sea,
A similar sense of calm you cannot achieve at any fee.
Venture in solitude or only with companions who matter,
Beware the trap of the meaningless, distracting clatter.
Forget Marine Drive, Bandra Bandstand or Worli Sea Face,
At sundown, walk to Amar Sons Park to get away from the rat race.
