Mid June 2007 We are fortunate enough to always land in Frankfurt on our way out of Kuwait. This time was special as we weren't flying back and we thought we'd lay over and explore some European highlights. We began with a nonstop drive to Vimy Ridge which we explored in the early morning fog. Hopped back in the caravan with Megin still asleep and headed direct for Paris. Every campsite we stayed in was fabulous with its' on special virtues. The one in Versailles, Hutttopia, was tucked away in the woods within walking distance of the mighty palace grounds and close to the subway station into Paris.
We cruised around Paris for one busy day touring the Eiffel Tower and all the usual Parisan sights. By the end of the day we were ready for our caravan beds and gearing up for a days drive into Switzerland. Our destination: Lauterbraunnen. This turned out to be our favorite all time spot and we stayed here the longest. The Jungfrau campsite was awesome. Right next to a small river, tucked in between huge rock mountains and waterfalls. We favored this spot over our campsite in Zermatt and voted to spend our last night in Switzerland here. Caravaning through Europe was definitely the way to go for us. Great locations, excellent food, espressos, campsite cafes and food stores, showers, laundry etc. all right there. Easy, hassle free, accomodations and within budget.
