Because Everyday We Hold Festivities

I am Robert Sarmiento, born and raised in the Philippines, a country of diverse culture and ethnic backgrounds. I pursued sociology in a significant amount of time, and now I am studying Film in the University of the Philippines, the premiere state university in our country where critical thinking and cultural sensitivity is taught and inculcated in the students.
I should be chosen for this scholarship because of my ability to adapt to cultures and my enthusiasm to learn from different experiences of people from varying walks of life. I am a human rights activist, rallying for the basic needs and social services of our people, especially education. This lifestyle has taught me how to deal with people, especially the vulnerable ones, and has somehow enabled me to live as frugal as possible. To back up my political beliefs for a better world is my aesthetic sensibilities. I took basic and manual photography in 2009 and have been an avid fan of toy cameras. At present I am studying Bachelor of Arts in Film which familiarized me with the visual language, that may expound on the photographs I take. I am purely non-professional and I am willing to learn from all the experts.
