My Photo scholarship 2010 entry
Bolivia | Thursday, October 14, 2010 | 5 photos
In my foggy dreams, I remember a country between skies and depths (1), where life runs from mountains heights to the lowland grass (2), where old is young because youth looks olds (3), where what is mine is really yours (4) and where being small doesnt mean you can’t reach high (5). They say high altitude is hard on one's health, but it is really when you leave that you heart stops. A place I love, where contrasts can live in peace, no doubt; this is La Paz.
Coming back from a recent trip to Bolivia, this sequence is truly a piece of my heart on your screen, I hope it will take you away and...up!
I always thought there was something rather mysterious, inexplicable about photography: how can one expect to make the other feels what you feel, see what you see, look through your lense. I am quite convince today that it is impossible. In my art gallery, I never recieve the feedback I expect; I love what others despise; I am always suprised to discover what others like in my work. I soon started to like this always evolving hermeneutic of the picture and today, I simply can’t live without it.
I am a 23 years old : passionate, hungry, alive. As a college student, I wished art would take more place in one’s heart, in one’s mind. Pushing the boundaries of this experimentation is thus not only a hobby, but something I want to work hard for.
Because I lack experience, because I lack means, learning is my bread and butter, and this experience is already adding a good layer on my creativity resume (something never quite rated by nobody...unfortunaly). Please enjoy...as I did. Cheers!
