Hi I'm Will an avid explorer, traveller and always set to conquer new challenges.
After finishing university I was eager to spend time travelling and when got the opportunity I immediately moved to the Southern Hemisphere & back tracked my way round Australasia by any means necessary. This enhanced my understanding of the world through seeing new species of wildlife, landscapes and experiencing different cultures.
As my eyes were opened now I had to capture this and this is were my love for photography began to grow. Since then I've upgraded through my cameras to s.l.r and always strive to improve, learn new techniques, perfect old ways and of course continue snapping.
The theme which I've decided to portray would be peace.
The theme of these collection of pictures reflects various interpretations of peace.
They are all taken in and around a remote island off the west of Ireland.
Old & New (peace)
Peace is the place of mind (solitude)
is the sanctuary we all wish to achieve.
1.15 Centuries Later A Saint lies undisturbed on an island off the west coast of Ireland.
The Historical Traditional Aspect
The first photograph shows a 6th Century Saints Tombstone that is the more obvious reminder of the tranquility of this early monastic settlement.
The undisturbed ancient stone with living lichen highlights the wild expanse of the island. There is a natural rhythm of life here that underlies it's peaceful nature.
2. As with the industry tis boat is in its twilight days resting in peace.
The Way Of The Times ( Transport)
The second photograph shows an old fishing boat laid to rest under a twilight sky This vessel that was made and used for action is now still. It once carried the hopes, industry and aspirations of the islanders and now provokes memories of a different past.
3. Uninterrupted Sleep… ( This fellow is at peace with the working progress.)
The Machines Working Together With Nature
The third photograph shows a young seal pup sleeping with the machinery in the background breaking the rock. The composition balances the natural world with the onslaught of the mans changing environment.
4. Leaving The Isle The At Peace Again
The fourth photography shows the end of the day as the lone island has been
left alone to disappear into the distance. The sea around the island is calm except for were man has created a wake. There is a clear sense that once the boat has passed that once again all will be at peace.
The Empty Land.
