Pat and Don's Big Adventure

We're not lost!

NEW ZEALAND | Wednesday, 14 January 2009 | Views [620] | Comments [12]

Hi everyone, Hope this works this time. We updated a week ago but being newbies to this it didnt work so well...obviously.  Anyway, we have traveled the north end from Aukland and back and now on our way to Wellington and currently in Napier on the East Coast.  Weather up north was good for the most part with lots of sun and great beaches.  Driving has been "interesting" more for Pat as a passenger.  I've only taken out one curb so far!!!!   Lots to see and we're putting lots of K's on the car trying to see all we can.  Toured the volcanic areas yesterday around Rotarua and Lake Taupo and visited a number of the sites and saw the geyser go off...interesting to say the least.    Hoping to head to North Palmerston tomorrow or Friday as we have to be in Wellington for Saturday nite as our ferry leaves first thing on Sunday AM for the South Isand. Accomodations have been nice so far altho a little more costly than expected. Food as well is pretty pricy even when shopping at their supermarkets.  We will certainly appreciate our cost of living on return. Hope weather there has improved since we left and thanks to all who have left comments on our site. We are trying to keep updated but neither of us are very techy when it comes to this stuff.  You all take care and we will be updating sooner than later.  Pat & Don  xox

We knew you weren't lost, just too busy having fun!...which is what you're supposed to be doing. I'll pass on the email to Aaron so that he can contact you, if he gets a chance. He heads over to the South Island on the 20th. Glad you're having a great adventure. Luv to both.

So glad to hear you are enjoying NZ! Isn't it beautiful?! I bet you saw the same geyser we saw in Rotorua. (Pretty stinky town, but amazing.) How are your tans coming along? I'm envious! Enjoy the south island. Don't forget the helicopter ride over Fiordland! Miss you at school Pat. Thinking about you, and hope you're having a great time. Hope you can hook up with Aaron soon. Much love to both of you, Tim & Kath
