31/12/2012 Albany (Goode Beach)

AUSTRALIA | Monday, 31 December 2012 | Views [366] | Comments [1]

Early morning swim (sun rises around 5am here). The beaches are spectacular and the water is a great temperature for swimming.

20km ride to town (Albany) along the bicycle track on the foreshore (very pleasant) and a lift home in the car!

Went for an afternoon kayak (using Phil's spare kayak) to Frenchmans Bay complete with kayaking 101 lesson from Al. Fell out just when I got to shore on the return trip. Sea was a bit rough (that's my story).

Played the ukulele and was in my tent by 8.30pm so definitely did not see the new year in.

Greetings Pauline, really enjoyed finally catching up on all the photos taken on your journey to Port Lincoln. What a fabulous experience - that will be one memorable Christmas! We too travelled by train from Port Augusta to Kalgoolie, some 39 years ago, and also spent time in Albany. At that time the whaling station still functioned, but on a more recent trip there we visited the museum there.

All the best for this new year!
