After finding my iPhone right where I left it! at the info centre and stocking up on food supplies I headed out of town at 11am. It was cloudy with hardly any wind, and no shoulder on the Southern Ports Highway which was fairly quiet.
I stopped (briefly!) at a snake farm? eek!
I had my lunch in a shelter at the Mount Benson Vineyard.
I met Vera and david in their caravan at a nice rest stop about 15km before Kingston and they gave me some information about campsites. There was a shoulder then for about 5km.
About 7kms before Kingston I turned down Pinks Beach Road to take the back way along the coast into Kingston and check out some camping possibilities at Pinks and Wyomi beaches. On the way I stopped at a muntries (not munchies) farm which are native apples about the size of your little fingernail and bought a muntries muffin for the road.
There were a lot of No Camping signs on the foreshore so continued on to Kingston on a beautiful coastal bicycle track I stumbled on.
I found a place for overnight camping near the pier, met my travelling Italian neighbors Simon and Chiara, and cooked dinner on the foreshore meeting Jack and Martha from Albury in the process.
