A recent career change has seen me leave the money markets and embark on a new career that is still taking shape. I believe that more respect and gratitude for our world and each other comes from knowledge. I aspire to capture and share information with people that they won’t receive from mainstream news services; to show a different angle and to get to places forgotten by most. I want to tell people’s stories, share their wisdom and investigate how we all interact with our environment on a macro and micro level. Also I wish to capture the quiet, sacred spaces of the natural world that are worth protecting and celebrating. To have an impact I require the skill, and this is why this scholarship is so needed! Instead of taking “just another travel picture” I want to better understand how to capture the story and emotion; to make people feel a connection to the subject of the photo and want to investigate further. A better understanding of the practical side of getting my work out there would also be helpful. I’m no stranger to hard work but I need to make it smart work, so please help!
