My Scholarship entry - Insight into a Lawan village, North Thailand

Thailand | Tuesday, November 18, 2014 | flickr photos

It started as a potential scratch for my itch. I knew that I had an impassioned outlook but I didn’t know how to express it. Photography has been my remedy.

I’m currently spending a year away from studying veterinary medicine to pursue my love of storytelling in my travels. Every country I visit, every place I see, humanity continues to inspire me.

The essence of my photography aims to bridge the gap between people of various backgrounds, and I am vigorous in my pursuit to present an accurate story. I’m motivated to do so because the world I see is currently shrouded in far too many misrepresentations of the truth.

My ultimate goal is to make a valued contribution to the improvement of international human health coupled with raising overseas animal welfare standards. Acting mutually, photography will be the voice powering my veterinary skills towards positive change.

To share in Jason’s passion and be under his mentorship would be incredible! The scholarship will challenge my thinking; allow me to see differently. Importantly, it will grant me the opportunity to experience first hand the hard work and patience required to be successful with this craft.

Here’s hoping!
