In a sweaty summer afternoon in Brazil, our bus finally arrived to Paraty. We were ready to discover the nature around after leaving our luggages into the hostel. We got on our guide Lucio’s safari jeep and step off around the first waterfall. Lucio heng on the the natural kinks pending from trees that were tens of meters and started swinging above the river. I couldn`t see him falling on the river once my feelings were mixed due to the strong sound of the falling water and all the colors of the never-ending forest. When Lucio “flied” to our side, he wanted us to do the same by giving the kink to my hand and insisting. Then, I left myself to the space.
We jumped back on our jeep and soon arrived at another riverside. There people could ski from a very vertical rock ramp in which a thin sequence of the river was flowing over. A local person showed us how to do it by skiing all vertical ramp on foot as if he was snowboarding and we spontaneously did the same. As we were getting faster and faster, we found ourselves on the inviting lap of the icecold river.
Our last place was a 15-meters-long waterfall.First,we jumped onto a big rock and left our clothes.Lucio left himself down to the river in the blink of an eye. After seconds, he was inside the running water and inviting us to jump by pointing at it.There were big rocks on the surface of the river that’s why we were hesitated to crash. After a long indecision, I stepped back 5 meters, started to run faster and faster and left myself to the space. Then I found myself in the freshwater of the river. While I was swimming back to the top, I felt that the river was accepting me as a part of it and even my cells were getting refreshed.
Back to the jeep, the sunset came in company with the smell of the wet earth. I was feeling that I left all my problems and worries in the rivers of Paraty…
