My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

When I’m out taking photos, it feels like I’m in my own world and nothing else seems to matter; I am at one with the scenery that surrounds me. I feel excited yet tranquil at the same time.
I never knew I could feel as passionate as that before I got into photography. It started as a realization for me while browsing through the landscape work of various artists; it dawned on me that capturing the beauty of nature was something I wanted to learn. I kept on reading, absorbing, applying, and evaluating all that I could until I learned and I continue on doing so up to the present. Before I knew it, here I am today with people telling me that my photos inspire them; and that was one of the most fulfilling moments of my life.
This is my biggest motivation, striving for never ending improvement; not just as a photographer but as a person as well. I want to continue on sharing the beauty of our planet to a global audience so that I may do my part in making people appreciate what surrounds them. Hopefully I can inspire more people out there to embark on this wonderful journey of photography. I believe that this once in a lifetime experience will enable me to do exactly that.
