My Scholarship entry - Giving back on the road

Sometimes you think it could not be worse than this stupid situation.
But, actually, it always can be.
It happened one month ago. I was staying alone on the dark road. I could not go back because there was only a dark I had come from. I could not go forward because a white stripe between two traffic lanes was going to disappear in two steps, and nobody wants to be run over by a high-speed truck. If I were a tour guide I would say: “At the right side you see a beautiful high wall, which is made from ancient stone, and on your left you can look at an amazing bushland without any traces of human beings”
I was extremely tired, almost dead and very hungry. I didn’t have any positive thought in my mind. What else can occur? But suddenly shrubs near me started to move! A frightening rustle made me feel like a young lamb in front of a big grey wolf. A maniac? A ghost? An alien with a deadly laser beam?
Oh my God, save my soul, I promise… Never hitchhike again! OK, at least never hitchhike alone. I know that you don’t believe me. I will not hitchhike next month, for sure, I am too young to die somewhere near Lille. I plucked up my courage.
A fluffy pale hare sprang out from behind the shrub. And one more. And… I simply could not count. There was a real invasion of hares. I was lucky that they were afraid of me more than I was afraid of them. Little trembling hares jumped away, I was staying on the road and laughing myself hoarse, as I had never laughed before. What a wonderful, unpredictable reality I live in!
Sometimes you think it could not be worse than this stupid situation.
Nevertheless, if you travel, you should be ready for different adventures and unexpected things. This world loves you and wants to surprise. Ten minutes later a car with three boys from Morocco stopped near me. I woke up in Paris next morning, those guys set me down near metro station”. An inconceivable, like Frenchman says, “le blanc matin” in the city of my dreams began. But it’s a long story..
